According to Da Nang Customs Department, on April 3, Da Nang International Airport Customs Branch detected a passenger entering the country on flight VJ970 from Singapore to Da Nang International Airport for illegally transport of two packages of live lobsters in large quantities.

Da Nang International Airport Customs Branch coordinated with Customs Enforcement Team (Da Nang Customs Department), Unit 2 (the Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department), PC03 (Da Nang Police), Fisheries Branch (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Da Nang City) and the Animal Health Branch of Region 4 (Department of Animal Health) conducted a physical inspection of the two packages of luggage.

Through the inspection, the law enforcement agencies discovered about 60,000 live lobsters hidden in the two packages of luggage, with an estimated value of more thanVND 5 billion.

Currently, the department has directed the branch to cooperate with other enforcement to evidence, complete documents and transfer to competent authorities for further investigation.
