On July 20, speaking to reporters, the leader of the Customs Enforcement Team (Cao Bang Customs Department) said that on the evening of July 17, 2024, on Road 206, passing through the area of Pac Mac hamlet, Chi Vien commune, Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province, the unit coordinated with the Investigation Police Division on Drug-related Crimes (PC04, Cao Bang Provincial Police) to successfully solve the case "CB424" established by the Customs Enforcement Team.

As a result, the authorities caught Ma Ich Lam red-handed in the act of drug trafficking and confiscated two packages of heroin, along with a number of other related evidence.

On July 19, 2024, PC04 (Cao Bang Provincial Police) issued a decision to extend the first detention of Ma Ich Lam (born in 1994, permanently residing in Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province) about drug trafficking.

The case is being further investigated and clarified.

Previously, on May 16, 2024, at Na Thin hamlet, Duc Hong commune, Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province, the working group of the Customs Enforcement Team (Cao Bang Customs Department) and PC04 (Cao Bang Provincial Police) to arrest Hua Thanh Tung, born in 1997, residing in Lang Hieu commune, Trung Khanh district, in the act of illegally transporting two packages of heroin.
