Customs collects more than VND 63 billion from the inspection

According to the InspectorateDepartment (General Department of Customs), from the beginning of the year to this date, the total amount proposed to be collected and fined for administrative violations from Customs inspection and examinationwasVND63.285 billion. Of which, the tax arrears were VND 57.924 billion VND, the fines were VND 5.361 billion.
The revenue from inspection by the General Department of Customs was VND 53.715 billion (accounting for 85% of the total amount collected from the inspection and audit), andfrom inspection by local Customs departmentswas VND 9.57 billion.
Some typical inspections with large revenues conducted directly by the General Department of Customs were related to the handling of tax arrears on imported nonwoven fabric in some southern provinces with a total of VND 11.5 billion and plowing and tiller machines with a total of VND 1.7 billion.
Together with the inspection and examination, the post clearance inspection auditwas one of the anti-lost tools implemented by the General Department of Customs. By mid-December, 2017, the whole sector conducted 8,252 inspections; the total imposed tax and administrative fines were over VND 2,184 billion, of which enterprises paid more than VND1,982 billion to the state budget.

Particularly, the Post Customs Clearance Audit Department has carried out 144 inspections with total imposed tax and administrative fines of nearly VND 699 billion, of which VND 662 billion was actually paid to the budget (including collected revenue from previous years’ debts).
