Customs carries out procedures for nearly 500 containers of goods exported from Hai Phong to the US

On November 9, a representative of Dinh Vu Port Customs Branch (Hai Phong Customs Department) said that they were coordinating in handling procedures for import and export goods of the MSC HONG KONG ship that had docked at TC-HICT port.
“The MSC ship aims to transfer 215 containers of imported goods and 461 containers of exports, the unit coordinated to resolve customs procedures quickly for businesses,” the representative of the customs branch said.
MSC HONG KONG vessel has a carrying capacity of 5,000 teu, tonnage of 67,600 DWT, with a length of 294m. It operates on the Santana service route to TC-HICT weekly, going straight through the Panama Strait to the east coast of the United States.
Earlier, on November 1, TC-HICT welcomed the first ship CAP JACKSON belonging to the new maritime service route TPX of Maersk shipping line directly connecting Hai Phong with the west coast of the US.
TC-HICT Port is a joint venture between Saigon Newport Corporation and MOL Shipping Line (Japan), Wan Hai Shipping Line (Taiwan) and Itochu Corporation (Japan) which started in 2018.
This is the first deep-water port of the Northern key economic region with two container terminals of 750m length, 13.4m depth, and a 660m wide turning basin.
The port's equipment is newly invested and synchronized, including the six largest STS shore cranes in Vietnam, 24 ERTG stacking cranes, two fixed swing cranes at the barge berth, and the TOPS-Expert system and modern electronic port system of ePORT and eDO.
The port can receive container ships with a capacity of up to 12,000 teu, tonnage of 132,000 dwt, with a volume of goods of 1.1 million teu/year.
