Under the customs reform, development and modernization plan to 2025 of Binh Duong Customs Department, the department aims to build a modern customs agency by 2025, which finalizes the development of digital Customs in accordance with the Customs sector’s orientation, creating grounds to build a smart Customs; strengthen administrative reform in the State management of customs in association with the automated processing of administrative procedures on the National Single Window Portal and the ASEAN Single Window Portal and reform specialized inspection activities at border gates, cross-border customs procedures, contributing to improving national competitiveness and ensuring social security and safety as well as national interests and sovereignty.

In addition, the department sets the target of building professional and skilled officers who are equipped with modern working equipment to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of customs management.

To realize the goals, Binh Duong Customs Department has set out six specific goals and targets for 2025, notably targets of effectively implementing digital transportation in customs administration; and building Binh Duong Customs to become a leading unit in digital transformation among other units in Binh Duong province.

Commenting on the draft plan of Binh Duong Customs Department, Standing Deputy Head of the Customs Reform and Modernization Committee Luong Khanh Thiet; Director of Legal Department Kim Long Bien; Deputy Director of the Personnel Organization Department Bui Ngoc Loi; Deputy Director of Customs Information and Statistics Department Pham Duyen Phuong; Deputy Head of Department in charge of Division 1, the Customs Control and Supervision Department Do Huy Tho agreed with the contents developed by the department.

In particular, the representatives of departments and agencies appreciated the content of specific targets set out for export processing and manufacturing, which are practical and suitable with the characteristics of Binh Duong province where export processing and manufacturing enterprises account for a large quantity. Binh Duong Customs Department set clear targets for personnel organization.

However, the unit should review a number of goals and targets to show mutual cohesion as well as the strengths of Binh Duong Customs Department.

Understanding comments from representatives of departments and agencies, Director of Binh Duong Customs Department Nguyen Tran Hieu said that these are enthusiastic opinions, consistent with the reality of the unit and Binh Duong Customs will fully absorb them to finalize the plan.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs Hoang Viet Cuong said Binh Duong Customs Department is one of the units that have implemented reform and modernization programs.
