Appointing Mr. Duong Phu Dong as Director of Ha Noi Customs Department

 VCN- On 2nd October 2018, Ha Noi Customs Department held a ceremony to announce Decision 1819/QD-BTC dated 1st October 2018 of the Ministry of Finance on term appointment for Mr. Duong Phu Dong- Director of Post Clearance Audit Department (under the General Department of Vietnam Customs) as Director of Ha Noi Customs Department to replace Mr. Nguyen Van Truong retiring in accordance with regulations. Deputy Minister of Finance Vu Thi Mai attended and awarded the Decision.

Deputy Director General of Vietnam Customs Hoang Viet Cuong and the representatives of Hanoi Party Committee attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, the representative of Personnel and Organization Department under the Ministry of Finance announced Decision 1819/QD-BTC on term appointment for Mr. Duong Phu Dong- Director of Post Clearance Audit Department to hold the position of Director of Ha Noi Customs Department from 1st October 2018.

After awarding the Appointment Decision to Mr Duong Phu Dong, on behalf of the Party committee, the leaders of the Ministry of Finance and Deputy Minister Vu Thi Mai, congratulated the New Director and said that the appointment of Mr. Dong was fully implemented in accordance with regulations.

At the same time, this result showed the great efforts of Mr. Dong and the confidence to assign the task and approval of the leadership board of the Ministry of Finance and Hanoi Party Committee. The Deputy Minister believed that with his ability and virtue, Mr. Dong would fulfill his assigned tasks.

Mr. Dong has worked in the Customs sector for 25 years, held many positions and has had experience in management for import and export goods; tax administration and collection. However, when holding the position of the Director of a local Customs department, the Director must cover all fields of the sector and the department.

“Ha Noi Custom Department is a large Customs Department and located in the capital-the political, administrative and economic center of the country. Therefore, the position of Director of Ha Noi Customs Department is an important position,” the Deputy Minister recommended.

Assigning the tasks to Mr. Dong, Deputy Minister Vu Thi Mai emphasized that Mr. Dong should promote knowledge and work experience, promote the good tradition of the unit, and pay attention to developing the solidarity of the unit to help Ha Noi Customs Department successfully complete the assigned tasks.

In particular, the Deputy Minister emphasized the tasks to be implemented in the coming time such as: synchronously and drastically implementing the task of revenue collection; strengthening the recovery and handling of outstanding debts; effectively deploying the Customs modernization and reform, facilitating import and export enterprises; Strengthening the fight against smuggling and trade frauds; building solidarity, creativity and efficiency in the force, and promoting the spirit of democracy in the units.

The new Director of Ha Noi Customs Department Mr. Duong Phu Dong promised to try his best together with the GDVC’s leaders to promote the Customs reform and modernization and strengthen the inspection and control to enhance the efficiency of management and contribute to preventing State revenue losses; To develop the Customs force for professionalism, transparency and efficiency; To promote the tradition of solidarity and achievements to develop the Customs sector to meet the requirements on tasks in the new situation.

Also, Mr. Dong thanked the leaders of all levels, as well as all officers of Ha Noi Customs Department for their confidence and assignment of this key position to him. He wished to receive the direction of leaders at all levels; and the support, assistance and sharing of the leadership board and officers of Ha Noi Customs Department to best fulfill the new tasks and lead the unit to successfully accomplish all assigned tasks.
