According to the HCM City Customs Department, in the first nine months of 2024, the department applied 79 criteria to ensure smooth classification of 2.4 million import-export declarations.
Of these, nearly 1.5 million declarations were classified as green channel, accounting for over 62%; 825,657 declarations were classified as yellow channel, accounting for 34.27%; and 89,235 declarations were classified as red channel, accounting for 3.7%.
During the clearance process, the Customs authorities reclassified 17,087 declarations (accounting for 19.15% of the total number of declarations classified as red channel).
In addition, to reduce the percentage of declarations requiring physical inspection of goods, HCM City Customs has focused on pre-scanning before cargo clearance.
In the first nine months of 2024, HCM City Customs cooperated in scanning a total of 20,522 containers before clearance, detecting 267 containers with suspicious signs (accounting for 1.3%).
To serve risk management, in the past nine months, HCM City Customs has collected and processed information for nearly 4,000 enterprises.
