Tay Ninh Customs actively supports businesses in law compliance

According to statistics from the beginning of the year to September 10, 2023, Tay Ninh Province Customs Department has completed import and export procedures for 1,104 businesses; nearly 29,000 vehicles and over 1.5 million passengers entering and exiting the country.

In addition to supporting businesses, the unit has also effectively fought against smuggling and trade fraud. In the first 9 months of 2023, Tay Ninh Customs Department discovered 290 cases, decided to sanction 277 administrative violations, with a total amount of VND 33,787 billion, transferred five cases to other customs authorities, and are handling eight cases.

Innovate the method of dialogue

To improve the effectiveness of dialogue activities, from October 10-12, Tay Ninh Customs conducted five consecutive offline dialogue sessions with businesses dealing with import-export activities in industrial clusters and zones and border gates in the area.

Deputy Director of Tay Ninh Customs Department Nguyen Duc Thien said that business dialogue is an annual activity of Customs agencies at all levels, an opportunity for Customs agencies and businesses to exchange information and find solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles quickly, creating more favorable conditions for import-export activities, strengthening ever-growing Customs-Business partnership and meeting business satisfaction. However, changing the method of dialogue, this is the first time leaders of Tay Ninh Customs Department and branches have visited industrial parks and border gates to meet directly and listen to business opinions to promptly solve their problems, as well as receive their feedback on the working attitude of Customs officers to take timely corrective measures.

The innovation of this method of dialogue by Tay Ninh Customs Department has been appreciated by the business community. Ms. Vu Thi Ninh, Manager of transit goods documentation unit, Oriental Logistics Multimodal Transport Company Limited said that the company has always received support and companionship from Moc Bai Border Gate Customs Branch and Tay Ninh Customs Department. Customs officers have supported to quick clearance for shipments arriving border gate late, helping the company save time, storage fee.

In charge of an area with a large number of businesses and contributing 80% of the total revenue of the entire Tay Ninh Customs Department, Trang Bang Industrial Park Customs Branch has always focused on supporting businesses. In addition to proactively grasping difficulties and problems of businesses to solve them, the unit also regularly receive feedbacks and recommendations from the business community through channels such as email, questionnaires for implementing commitments in the customer service charter and the unit also regularly consults and quickly sends new effective documents to businesses, said Director of Trang Bang Industrial Park Customs Branch Tran Van Trong.

Businesses appreciate the companionship and support of Customs agency

Tay Ninh Customs Department has actively supported businesses participating in the Customs Compliance Program. Participating businesses have been guided to improve the compliance level, reduce inspection rates, reduce costs and time in customs clearance of goods and deal with problems, and become a reliable partner of the Customs agency in import-export activities and transit of goods as a basis for facilitating trade, enhancing competitiveness while improving the management efficiency of the Customs agency and state management agencies, creating a healthy business environment and improving national competitiveness.

After more than a year of implementation, as of September 30, 2023, at Tay Ninh Customs Department, there were 9 import-export enterprises recognized as members of the Customs Compliance Program

The program has brought practical results and made important changes in businesses' compliance with customs laws. For example, for Wilson Company Limited (Vietnam), before participating in the program, the Customs information system recognized the company’s compliance at level 3 but as of September, the company is assessed at compliance level 2 by the Customs IT system.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly Huynh, Director of Import-Export Unit of Wilson Company Limited (Vietnam), said that this result is from the support of the Customs agency and also the efforts of the company in law compliance. The upgrade of compliance level helps the company avoid errors during customs procedures also improve the reputation to customers and partners.

Similarly, participating in the 2022 Customs Compliance Program, Ms. Tran Thi Hieu, Factory Director of Kruger Ventilation Industries Vietnam Co., Ltd. said that the company always receives active support from the Customs agency, helping the company update the latest information on legal documents and customs policies so that customs clearance is faster. The company has implemented internal improvements, ISO regulations, customs law regulations to fulfill its role as a member of the Customs Compliance Program.
