Tan Thanh Customs: Hold in custody the shipment suspected ivory products

At 4:30 PM, in the afternoon of 30/10, in the inspection process, the working group detected passenger car which has 29 seats with license plate No.29B-02419, run on the route from Hanoi to Tan Thanh had suspected sign. In there, working group inspected and discovered 33 wood logs with a suspect sign on the car.

Furthermore, the working group checked and chiselled wood log then they discovered inside those logs containing many art objects including bracelets, rings, rosaries, small status, chopsticks, teapot carving dragon,… those products were suspected to be produced from ivory or animal bone with total weight was 43kg.

In the investigation agency, Ngo Van Thu as the driver who was born in 1988 and lives in Xuy Xa, My Duc – Hanoi claimed that while he was driven on the road, someone asked to send 2 packs of goods to Tan Thanh and then someone in there will take the goods. Currently, the unit continues to investigate for clarification.
