VCN - On 6/9, at Cat Lai Port, Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch in coordination with the Customs Enforcement Unit - Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department, C74 - Ministry of Public Security, PC46 - HCM City Police and Border Post of Nha Rong port inspected two containers of imported goods and found lots of ivory.

This is a shipment of Empire - Group Limited Company (located at 261-263 Phan Xich Long, 2nd Floor, Ward 3, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City) transited to Vietnam then transported to Cambodia. In the declaration of the entire shipment, it was asphalt which was packed in more than 100 drum barrels. Through the supervision, Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch coordinated with the Supervision and Enforcement Team to conduct the screening.

Through a screening images, the competent force detected a suspicious sign of ivory shipments thus they conduct a physical inspection. As a result, there are many barrels containing ivory. It was hidden by using sophisticated tricks to hide between the layers of ivory with sawdust, next is the plaster layer and the top is the asphalt layer.

Through the inspection, they found that each barrel contained more than 100 pieces of ivory. Customs News will continue to update information about this shipment.
