VCN - On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Customs (September 10, 1945 - September 10, 2024), on September 10, 2024, at the headquarters of the General Department of Customs, the Customs Magazine and the Customs Reform and Modernization Department jointly organized the 2024 Annual Customs-Business Forum, titled “10-year development of the Customs-Business partnership”. Participating in the session 1 were Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs Dinh Ngoc Thang, representatives of departments, agencies under the General Department of Customs.

The 2024 Annual Customs-Business Forum attracted hundreds of delegates from ministries, agencies, and embassies of countries in Vietnam; domestic business associations, foreign business associations in Vietnam and businesses.

Approved by the General Department of Customs' leader, the Customs Magazine coordinated with the Customs Reform and Modernization Department to organize the 2024 Annual Customs-Business Forum, titled: "10-year development of the Customs-Business partnership", to promote import-export activities, contributing to the sustainable development of the country, with the aspiration of a strong Vietnam by 2045 according to the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party.

In her opening speech at the Forum, on behalf of the organizing unit, Editor-in-Chief of Customs Magazine Vu Thi Anh Hong emphasized that September 10, 2024 is a special day for officers, civil servants and employees of Vietnam Customs, marking the 79th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Customs (September 10, 1945 - September 10, 2024). The 2024 Customs-Business Forum, held on this important occasion, promises to provide a lot of useful and practical information by summarizing and evaluating the 10-year journey of developing the Customs-Business partnership and related parties (2014-2024).

After 10 years of promoting the implementation, the development of Customs-Business partnership has brought many positive results for both the Customs agency and the business community. This is the journey of a management agency changing its thinking and actions. Many valuable experiences have been gained, many difficulties have been overcome and clearly demonstrated in practice, contributing to improving the quality of the investment and business environment for businesses, while contributing to improving the effectiveness of implementing customs laws and policies and performing public duties in the Customs sector.

In the context of many difficulties in the country and the world today, the development of Customs-Business partnership continues to be of interest and focus to the Customs sector with new orientations and solutions that are increasingly more substantial and in-depth, in particular, strengthening Customs-Business cooperation, creating favorable conditions for businesses and related parties to participate in perfecting legal policies, improving the management and law enforcement capacity of each party, promptly and effectively resolving difficulties and problems in order to share, support, and create favorable conditions in the process of customs procedures for the business community.

"The Forum is to evaluate the 10-year journey, recognize and commend collectives, individuals, organizations and enterprises with outstanding achievements and positive contributions to the development of the Customs-Business partnership and related parties; and orient solutions to continue developing the Customs-Business partnership and related parties in the new period; enhance the law compliance capacity of the business community, promote trade facilitation and develop the country's economy", Editor-in-Chief Vu Thi Anh Hong added.

At the 2024 Customs-Business Forum, the 10-year journey of developing the Customs-Business partnership will be recounted through vivid data and information; events and stories in reality in localities, experiences that leaders, officers, customs officials, as well as businesses have acquired in the process of cooperation and companionship together, as well as the difficulties and obstacles that have been and will have to overcome in the coming time.

The greatest efficiency is also the goal of the Customs agency, which is to support businesses to improve their capacity to apply and enforce the law, facilitate customs clearance, thereby giving businesses more motivation to overcome difficulties, maintain and grow.

The forum consists of 2 sessions:

Session 1: 10-year development of the Customs-Business partnership: "Promoting customs reform, facilitating the investment and business environment for enterprises". The speakers include: Mr. Dinh Ngoc Thang, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs; Mr. Dao Duy Tam, Deputy Director of the Department of Customs Control and Supervision, General Department of Customs; Mr. Do Thanh Quang, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department; Mr. Dau Anh Tuan, Deputy General Secretary, Head of the Legal Department of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry - VCCI; Mr. Yoshihara Toru, Head of the Customs Department, Japan Business Association in Vietnam - JCCI.

Session 2: Strategy for developing the Customs-Business partnership in the new period: "Taking the satisfaction of enterprises and investors as the centric approach". The speakers include: Mr. Nguyen Nhat Kha, Director of the Risk Management Department - General Department of Customs; Mr. Dang Thanh Dung, Deputy Head of the Customs Reform and Modernization Department - General Department of Customs; Mr. Bui Ngoc Loi, Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Customs Department; Mr. Tran Tien Dung, Vice President of Vietnam Logistics Business Association - VLA; Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam, Deputy General Secretary of Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers - VASEP.
