Vietnam's economic picture in 2021 still recorded growth amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Specifically, GDP rose by 2.58%; the average consumer price index (CPI) rose by 1.84% from 2020 (the lowest rate since 2016); average core inflation rose by 0.81% from 2020.

In 2022, the National Assembly sets a target of GDP growth at 6 - 6.5%; with average CPI growth at 4%. Experts said that it will be difficult to achieve this target because inflation pressure is relatively high.

Therefore, to control inflation and promote economic recovery from the beginning of 2022, we need to have many synchronous solutions from the central government to ministries, Governmental agencies and local agencies in the implementation of the Master Strategy on COVID-19 Prevention and Control and the Program on Socio-economic Recovery and Development. In which, the Ministry of Finance plays an important role in closely monitoring the world economic situation, price movements of necessities, raw materials and fuel, especially petrol and oil prices to develop measures to manage and control prices in a timely manner, contributing to stabilizing prices and controlling inflation.

To help people and businesses better understand this issue, Customs News organizes an online seminar: "Inflation Controlling and Economic Recovery and Development". At the seminar, speakers will analyze advantages and challenges affecting inflation control in the implementation of economic recovery programs under resolutions of the National Assembly; speak about management policies of State agencies for price stabilization; discuss the role of inflation control on people's lives and economic growth; and propose solutions to help control inflation better in the future.

The forum will be held at 2:30pm on March 9, 2022 (Wednesday) with the participation of speakers:

- Mr. Nguyen Ba Khang, Deputy Director of the Information Center for Financial Supervision under the National Financial Supervisory Commission.

- Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dinh, Deputy Head of General Policy Division, the Price Management Department (Ministry of Finance).

- Mr. Nguyen Bich Lam, Economist, former Director General of the General Statistics Office.

The seminar will be live streamed from 2:30pm to 4:30pm on March 9, 2022 at website: www.haiquanonline.com.vn and shared on Youtube and the Customs News Fanpage.
