One more case of seizing more than 44,000 tablets of synthetic narcotics at Dien Bien

The case was handled by the working group of Anti-drugs Enforcement Unit – Unit 5 (Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department, General Department of Vietnam Customs), in coordination with Dien Bien District Police, Police Division on drug-related crime investigation – PC04 (Dien Bien province Police), Anti-drugs Enforcement Team (Dien Bien Customs Department), and Thanh Luong Border Post.

Specifically, at 7:00 PM, on June 6, the competent forces arrested Quang Van Tinh (born in 1960, residing in Hong Lech Cuong village, Thanh Hung Ward, Dien Bien District, Dien Bien Province) due to illegal trading of narcotics. The exhibit was 211 packs suspected of being synthetic narcotics with quantity of up to 44,200 tablets and some other related exhibits.

The case is being investigated by competent authorities.

Relating to the fighting with drug-related crime of Customs force, according to General Department of Vietnam Customs, in May, the whole Customs sector participated in 23 cases, increasing be eight cases over the same period in 2019. In particular, Dien Bien continues to be a hot spot.

Typically, on May 7, PC04 (Dien Bien Police) coordinated with the Anti-drugs Enforcement Team (Dien Bien Customs Department) to detected one person committing the act of trading and transporting drugs at Ban Pa Ngam 2 area, Nua Ngam Ward, Dien Bien Ward and seized four bricks of heroin.
