Seizing the largest number of drugs ever transported via air

VCN - The specialized project HP524 established by Hanoi Customs Department in coordination with PC04 – Hanoi Police City and North Hanoi Customs Branch has been closed. The competent force seized 179 kg of synthetic drugs MDMA that was the largest number of drugs ever transported via air.

Information from the Anti-Drug Enforcement Team (Hanoi Customs Department), the unit has coordinated with competent forces to destroy a major drug case transported from Germany to Vietnam.

Through patrol, control, and grasping of the situation and practical experience in the fight against drugs, Hanoi Customs has received information about a large amount of drugs from Germany to Vietnam.

To promptly prevent, arrest, and destroy drug-related crime rings, the leader of the Anti-Drug Enforcment Team proposed to the leadership of Hanoi Customs Department to establish specialized project HP 524, chaired by Hanoi Customs Department, in coordination with PC 04 (Hanoi City Police) and North Hanoi Customs Branch to combat drug-related crimes illegally transported from Germany to Vietnam, through Noi Bai International Airport.

The project was established by Hanoi Customs Department on May 30, just four days later, on June 4, the project board arrested 4 subjects and seized about 179 kg of synthetic drug MDMA.

Project HP524 is a typical and outstanding project, with the largest number of drugs seized so far by air.

Regarding the fight against drugs, the leader of Anti-Drug Enforcement Team (Hanoi Customs Department) said that in 2024, implementing drug prevention and control work and the month of action to fight against drugs, based on the situation of the area, professional warnings, and instructions of the leaders at all levels, Hanoi Customs Department has built and issued a comprehensive plan and measures to implement the fight against drugs and the action plan to fight against drugs.

At the same time, closely coordinate with the specialized forces in drug prevention and control to combat and destroy drug trafficking routes by air.
