In April, the Customs force seized some items, mainly sugar, cigarettes, beer, powdered milk, medicines, cosmetics, new electronics, electric products, poultry, and poultry products.
Infringing goods were transported by air, seaport, postal service and border crossings.
The prevention of trafficking and illegal transportation of narcotics has also been strengthened on air, postal routes and border routes such as in Dien Bien, Nghe An provinces. Thus, a large volume of drugs was seized.
From March 16, 2022 to April 15, 2022, the Customs sector presided over and worked with other authorities to handle 1,061 cases with infringing goods valued at nearly VND180 billion; contributed more than VND21 billion to the State budget, took two cases to court and transferred four cases to other agencies.
On March 30 and 31, the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department (General Department of Customs) coordinated with Hai Phong Customs Department to search a suspected shipment and discovered conditional imported goods which have not been declared to customs.
As a result, in addition to frozen fish as declared on the bill of lading, the shipment contained about 350kg of dried seahorses. This is a high-value commodity on the market and is a conditional import and on the list II of CITES.
On April 5, 2022, Quang Ninh Customs Department detected a suspect transporting 1,300 liters of biofuel E5 RON 92-II of unknown origin near Hon Gai, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province.

A day later, Quang Ninh Customs made an administrative violation record 04/KS2/BB-VPHC for the suspect and seized the goods, and transferred the dossier to the Chairman of Ha Long City People's Committee for sanctioning.
