At the ceremony, Deputy Director General of Vietnam Customs Nguyen Van Tho awarded the appointment decision and flowers to Le Thanh Van.

The Deputy Director General said Le Thanh Van has 27 years’ experience in the Customs sector and in many working positions. He believes that Le Thanh Van will perform well in the new position.

Nguyen Van Tho also suggested that Le Thanh Van quickly accept new tasks and work together with the leaders of Dong Nai Customs Department to implement the general tasks of the department and other major tasks assigned by the General Department of Customs such as coordinating with the General Department of Customs to implement the project of Digital Customs, Smart Customs.

According to the plan, the General Department of Customs is expected to assign Dong Nai Customs Department to pilot this project in 2023.

In addition to internal coordination, Le Thanh Van needs to maintain relationships with departments, agencies and authorities in the province to perform its assigned tasks.

The Deputy General Director requested the department's leadership to arrange and assign tasks to Le Thanh Van according to his capacity and strengths to create a strong unit.

Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh also said Long Thanh International Airport is about to come into operation in the near future. With a scale of up to 5,000 hectares, Long Thanh airport will be an important hub of the whole region. Therefore, it is very important to build a team of qualified and skilled staff.

“Customs is the doorkeeper of the country’s economy, preventing counterfeit goods from entering Vietnam and being exported abroad. This requires Customs officers to have good qualities. Therefore, leaders of Dong Nai Customs Department need to pay special attention to training and improving well-qualified officers," Deputy Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh said.

Director of Dong Nai Customs Department Phung Thi Bich Huong said she will implement the Decision of the General Department of Customs and assign specific tasks to each officer in the leadership so that the unit can effectively carry out tasks for 2022 from the first days of the year.

At the ceremony, Deputy Director Le Thanh Van expressed his gratitude to leaders at all levels for trusting and appointing him to the new position. He promised to quickly take on the new task and try to do his best, together with the Dong Nai Customs Department to successfully complete assigned tasks.
