According to Quang Nam Customs Department, there has been a commercial bank that after collecting tax amounts from tax payers, it provided information on tax payment via e-Customs payment Portal for Customs clearance. However, this bank did not transfer the payment to the Customs authority’s account at the State Treasury.
For this violation, this bank will have to remit the late payment amount in accordance with provisions of the Law on Tax administration and pay for late payment penalty in accordance with provisions of Circular 46/2014/TT-NHNN.
Receiving this information, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has requested this bank to urgently check and immediately transfer the amount of late payment and fine, and explain in writing in accordance with the Cooperation agreement between the Bank and the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
At the same time, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has also requested this bank to have a strict management mechanism in the system for documents for payment of collected tax to the State budget and instruct the entire Bank system to comply with provisions.
Over the past time, in order to facilitate enterprises in imports and exports, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has provided many channels of e-tax payment via commercial banks to coordinate in collecting import and export duty, including 24/7 e-tax payment channel for facilitating enterprises in implementing tax payment anytime, anywhere and any means, and quickly carrying out Customs clearance.
