As of January 25, the total number of vehicles carrying exports stuck at Lang Son province reduced 20 times to 266 vehicles compared with December 19, 2021. Currently, Huu Nghi International Border Gate and Dong Dang Railway Station maintain normal customs clearance. Chi Ma and Tan Thanh Border Gates resumed operation, but the clearance capacity is still low.
From January 17 to date, on average 90-100 vehicles have been cleared per day at Huu Nghi Border Gate. It is expected that the volume of congested fresh fruits will be cleared from now to the Lunar New Year. Some agricultural products such as tapioca, cassava chips will be unloaded at warehouses in the border gate area for storage and preservation.
According to the forecast of the Management Board, the Chinese Government will strengthen the pandemic prevention and control to implement the strategy of “Zezo Covid” and issue new regulations related to food safety and traceability of imports and exports. Therefore, the import and export operation will suffer difficulties.
After the Lunar New Year, agricultural products in the Southern province will be harvested, so exports will face many difficulties, the backlog of goods at border gates may continue.
In the foreseeable future, Lang Son province continues to strictly prevent and control the pandemic at border gates. In the first quarter of 2022, the province will complete the installation of the inspection and control system to ensure the operation of specialized route for goods transportation between Tan Thanh (Vietnam) and Po Chai (China).
It will also complete the renovation and opening of the route of importing and exporting goods across the Chi Ma Border Gate into four import and export lanes.
The province will also implement transparency and improve the efficiency of the policy enforcement force. At the same time, the province will also apply the function of inspection, control and medical declaration for people and vehicles transporting imports and exports at inter-sectoral medical quarantine checkpoints; and establish a "green border gate" to ensure customs clearance of goods for the whole country.
From February 21, 2022, businesses are required to make health declarations at border gates when carrying out import and export procedures at Huu Nghi and Tan Thanh international border gates.
Regarding the case of collecting money to quickly clear vehicles carrying goods at Lang Son Border Gate, Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thu, Deputy Director of Lang Son Provincial Police, said that six suspects have been arrested. The investigation agency of Lang Son province will strictly handle the relevant suspects. |
