Statistics from Lang Son Customs Department show that the total number of entry and exit vehicles going through customs clearance at border gates in Lang Son province on January 8, 2023 is 617. Of which, the number of trucks carrying export goods is 212 (181 trucks of fruit, 31 trucks of other goods) and carrying imported goods 405.

Specifically, at Huu Nghi international border gate, the total number of entry and exit vehicles is 397. Of which, 82 vehicles carry exported goods and 315 imported goods.

At Tan Thanh sub-border gate, the total number of entry and exit vehicles going through customs clearance procedures on January 8 is 220, of which, 130 trucks carrying export goods and 90 trucks carrying imported goods.

However, at Chi Ma and Coc Nam border gates, on January 8, 2023, customs clearance was suspended because the Chinese side closed on Saturday and Sunday. In addition, at the international border gate of Dong Dang Station, the customs made import and export customs clearance for seven wagons.

According to a representative of Lang Son Customs Department, up to now, import and export activities of goods through Huu Nghi, Tan Thanh, Chi Ma and Coc Nam international border gates have been smooth and vibrant.

At the border gates, all import and export cargo trucks are driven directly into the cargo inspection area.

According to Mr. Hoang Khanh Duy, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son border gate economic zone, state management agencies and competent authorities at border gates in Lang Son have maintained flexible solutions to manage import-export activities as well as entry and exit activities.

Accordingly, the control of immigration passengers through Huu Nghi international border gate is in accordance with regulations. The dissemination of China’s policies on pandemic prevention and control to drivers, transporters and passengers has been strengthened.

Warehouse and yard operators at border gates have urgently arranged areas to facilitate the inspection and gathering of goods and provided services such as loading and unloading of goods.

Speaking to Customs News, Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh, Director of Lang Son Customs Department said to provide maximum support to businesses to carry out customs clearance procedures as quickly as possible, Lang Son Customs has directed the border gate customs branches to offer solutions to flexibly handle customs procedures.

Specifically, for Green channel shipments, at this time, the customs only conducts documentary checks but physical inspection, shortening the time for customs clearance for a shipment to two minutes, helping to speed up the clearance process.

Further, the customs maximized the benefits of the Digital Border Gate Platform software to capture the volume of goods before arriving at the border gates to proactively implement professional measures to ensure smooth customs clearance activities. Currently, the Customs agency has supported enterprises to declare information about import and export goods through the Digital Border Gate Platform. Thus, customs declaration documents are processed and completed as soon as the enterprise's shipment arrives at the border gate area.

It is forecast that the demand for import and export goods to serve the production of enterprises, as well as the consumption of the people of the two countries during the Tet holiday will increase sharply, Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh said, import and export activities through border gates in Lang Son province will increase.

On the basis of the achieved results, to promote the clearance of import and export goods at border gates, Lang Son Customs will continue to implement solutions to remove difficulties and promote import and export activities, especially exported agricultural products.

Moreover, the unit will also continue to strengthen exchanges and talks with the Chinese side to jointly solve difficulties and obstacles in import-export activities of the two sides; restore the customs clearance of goods at auxiliary border gates in the province to improve customs clearance capacity to accelerate import and export activities.
