Lang Son Customs organizes training on tax management
Speaking at the training workshop, Mr Tran Bang Toan, Deputy Director of Import – the Export Duty Department, said that, over the past time, the Customs sector has effectively performed import-export duty management. From that, it has contributed to revenue loss prevention and improved limitations in tax management. In particular, step-by-step solving problems and facilitating business production.
Accordingly, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has effectively implemented the work of revenue loss prevention through controlling price, HS codes, and analytical evaluation through the GTT02 System; reviewed and standardized the information on the MHS system as a basis for Customs officers to look up and compare when channelizing goods, ensuring that an item has only one code according to the List of Import-Export goods of Vietnam; focusing on reviewing and grasping the tax debt situation of local customs departments.

Furthermore, Mr Tran Bang Toan said that to improve the efficiency of customs valuation management, in 2022, the General Department of Vietnam Customs is developing a project on reforming customs valuation management in the 2021-2030 period aiming to continue developing a customs valuation management system in line with international standards to ensure effective and efficient operations based on a transparent policy system, comprehensively standardizing professional operation processes on modern IT application facilities, contributing to facilitating legal, commercial activities, protecting the interests of the state, and the lawful rights and obligations of organizations and individuals.
In addition, during the implementation of professional activities, the General Department of Customs also guided and handled problems of local customs units and enterprises related to tax policy, customs valuation, and classification of goods ... for import and export goods.
To improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the operation of the Customs and the quality of service to customs declarants and enterprises, Import-Export Duty Department cooperated with Lang Son Customs Department to organize a training workshop on tax management for customs officers to implement uniformly and solve problems arising in the process of implementing circulars and decisions on the List of Vietnam's import and export goods; List of import and export goods with risk in value; the process of managing tax debt and other revenues for import and export goods.
At the training workshop, the representative of the Import-Export Duty Department exchanged and guided the classification of goods following Circular 31/2022/TT-BTC on promulgating the List of Vietnam's import and export goods; guiding the consultation on customs valuation following the Decision 1769/QD-TCHQ on promulgating the List of import and export goods with value risks; the process of managing tax debt and other revenues for import and export goods.
Also, at the conference, customs officers discussed and answered questions about the classification of import and export goods, consultation to determine customs valuation, and application of VAT rates on some imported goods; the work of urging, recovering and handling tax debts, tax debts charge-off and eliminating tax debts.
