Trade in goods surges
Lang Son Provincial People's Committee said that in November 2023, import-export activities have been maintained and developed at six border gates including: Huu Nghi International Border Gate, Dong Dang International Railway Station, Chi Ma Border Gate, and sub-border gates of Tan Thanh, Coc Nam and Na Hinh.
Accordingly, the total trade in goods across the province in November is estimated at US$ 440 million, including US$280 million of export turnover and US$160 million of import turnover. The positive result in imports and exports in the month has help the total trade in goods increase by 70.6% year-on-year to US$4,595 million, meeting 120.9% of the plan. Of which, export turnover is estimated to rise 214.2% to US$2,680 million, meeting 206.2% of the plan; import turnover is estimated to grow 4% to US$1,915 million, meeting 76.6% of the plan.
The latest report of the Dong Dang- Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone Management Board shows that on December 5, 1,215 vehicles carrying imported and exported goods were cleared across border gates of Lang Son province. Of which, 405 vehicles carrying exported goods and 810 vehicles carrying imported goods were cleared.
Notably, 681 vehicles were cleared at Huu Nghi International Border Gate, including 128 vehicles transporting exported goods and 553 vehicles transporting imported goods.
At Tan Thanh Border Gate, 452 means of transport were cleared, including 268 vehicles transporting exported goods and 184 vehicles transporting imported goods.
Currently, at Chi Ma Border Gate, 77 vehicles were processed customs clearance, including four vehicles transporting exported goods and 73 vehicles transporting imported goods.
Customs actively exchanging information
Deputy Director of Lang Son Customs Department Vy Cong Tuong said that Lang Son Customs Department will continue to follow the direction of the Ministry of Finance, the General Department of Viet Nam Customs, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to provide solutions and plans to facilitate trade, contributing to accomplishing the revenue collection tasks.
The department will also expedite the Customs reform and modernization, trade facilitation, smooth operation of e-Customs clearance system associated with the implementation of the Digital Border Gate Platform to facilitate maximum for import and export activities.
The department has directed border gate customs branches to assign officers to support and resolve problems arising in customs processes; to promote information exchange and closely coordinate with border gate units to quickly process customs clearance for imports and exports.
In addition, Lang Son Customs Department has actively collaborated with warehouse and yard operators at the border gates to arrange areas for storage and preservation of agricultural goods while waiting for export; coordinate with the Border Guard and Police to regulate traffic and prevent congestion at the border gates, ensuring security and order.
The department recommends importers and exporters to actively grasp and exchange information on market status and import-export activities with local enforcement agencies to provide appropriate adjustment in line with the reality and minimize arising damages. The department encourages the business community to select customs brokers certified by the General Department of Vietnam Customs to carry out customs procedures to avoid legal risks, ensuring professionalism and transparency, Deputy Director Vy Cong Tuong said.
