HCM City Customs reviews and inspected cleared imported goods with suspicious signs

The Customs Department said the General Department of Customs has issued guidance on review and post-clearance inspection of a number of goods for pandemic prevention and control with signs of taking advantage of the pandemic and preferential import policies for some items for price gouging.

To promptly prevent and detect violations, and provide support and relevant information about "Covid-19 test kits", Covid-19 vaccines and ventilators" imported from 2020, the leaders of HCM City Customs Department have requested units to strictly follow the instructions.

Accordingly, customs branches are liable for inspecting and reviewing all customs clearance documents, check import procedures, management policies, ruling, post-clearance inspection at the headquarters of the customs office for suspicious cases of under-value declarations.

The Information Technology Division has coordinated with the Post-Clearance Audit Branch to export data related to the above-mentioned imported goods which have been gone through customs procedures at HCM City Customs Department from 2020.

The Post-Clearance Audit Branch, on the basis of the review results of the customs branches, has analyzed import and export data to select enterprises for post-customs clearance inspection in accordance with regulations and procedures on post-clearance audit issued together with Decision 575 dated March 21, 2019 of the Director General of Customs.
