On January 5, 2023, the Saigon port area 4 Customs Branch said that under the inspection results, 34 items in containers imported from France to the Saigon port area 4 border gate are antiques.

According to the import customs declaration, the above shipment was named BMMN Co., Ltd (HCMC). Through controlling the area, the online supervision unit of the General Department of Customs and the Saigon port area 4 Customs Branch detected suspicious signs, so they were put under special monitoring and supervision.

After the goods had been at the port for more than 90 days, the company made the customs declaration. According to the declaration, the imported goods are wooden furniture, 100% new, imported from France.

Upon physical inspection of the shipment, the Saigon port area 4 Customs Branch discovered that all the goods were not furniture as declared, but decorations, including ceramics, and furniture, suspected of antiquities.
