HCM City Customs collect revenue exceeded the second target with VND 138,000 billion

Revenue increased by nearly VND25,000 billion
Head of Import-Export Tax Division Hoang Huu Truong said that, after completing the ordinance target of VND 226,500 billion at the beginning of November 2022, HCM City Customs Department was adjusted striving target by the General Department of Vietnam Customs from VND 119,500 billion to VND138,000 billion. This was the highest striving target so far.
To fulfill this new target, the HCM City Customs Department has allocated to its branches to implement effective solutions to achieve the highest revenue. Accordingly, besides trade facilitation solutions, leaders of the HCM City Customs Department have directed units to strengthen the fight against revenue loss through customs supervision and inspection, post-clearance audit, specialized inspection, fight against smuggling and trade fraud, focus on anti-fraud via inspecting quantity, value, HS code, origin, brand...
From the beginning of the year to November 30, 2022, HCM City Customs Department carried out clearance procedures for goods worth US$124.54 billion, an increase of 14.3% over the same period in 2021 (an increase of US$13 .04 billion).
Export turnover reached US$57.76 billion, increasing 12.4% over the same period in 2021 (equivalent to US$6.37 billion); import turnover reached US$66.78 billion, rising by 11.1% over the same period in 2021 (equivalent to US$6.67 billion).
With the implementation of synchronous and practical solutions, as of December 20, 2022, HCM City Customs Department collected VND 138,424.5 billion, reaching 118.82% of the ordinance target, reaching 100.31% of the striving target (VND138,000 billion), an increase of 21.65% over the same period in 2021, equivalent to an absolute increase of VND 24,633.8 billion.
Thus, HCM City Customs Department has completed 100% of the striving target assigned by the General Department of Vietnam Customs under Official Letter No. 4421/TCHQ-TXNK dated October 21, 2022, on state revenue collection in 2022.
It is known that on November 1, 2022, HCM City Customs Department's revenue and payment to the State budget was VND 116,919 billion, reaching 100.36% of the assigned ordinance estimate, an increase of 21.74% over the same period in 2021, equivalent to an increase of VND 20,883 billion. This result hit a record of completing the State revenue target of the HCM City Customs Department.
Many import-export products achieved a high turnover
According to the analysis of the HCM City Customs Department, the state revenue in the first 11 months of 2022 continues to increase compared to the same period in 2021 due to the rapid increase in turnover in 2022.
Accordingly, the turnover in 11 months of 2022 reached US$124.54 billion. In particular, the taxable turnover reached US$40.45 billion, an increase of 20.38% compared to the same period last year (equivalent to an absolute increase of US$6.85 billion), the tax amount increased by 22.22% (equivalent to VND23,758.9 billion) over the same period in 2021.
Many commodities with large turnover contributed to increased State revenue, such as imported petroleum of all kinds with the amount of 4.46 million tons, turnover of US$4.64 billion, of which the taxable turnover reached US$3.79 billion, growing 29.6% in volume. However, due to the sharp increase in oil price, leading to an increase of 128.5% in value, the tax receivable amount reached VND 18,104.1 billion, increasing 274.93% compared to the same period last year (equivalent to an absolute increase of VND11,519.2 billion).
CBU cars of all kinds imported 71,367 units, with a turnover of US$1.471 billion, rising 4.3% in volume, growing 9.7% in value; tax receivable amount reached VND24,567.9 billion, climbing 123.59% (an absolute increase of VND4,689.9 billion) compared to the same period in 2021.
Imported iron and steel with an output of 2.56 million tons, with a turnover of US$ 2.32 billion, of which the turnover with tax affecting revenue reached US$ 2.14 billion, increasing 14.6% in volume, rising 23.5% in value, the amount of tax receivables was VND5,036.2 billion, an increase of 124.32% in comparison with the same period last year (equivalent to an absolute increase of VND985 billion).
In the last days of 2022, HCM City Customs Department continues to carry out the emulation movement with the slogan: "Improving the quality of administrative procedures, resolutely fighting, preventing and combating smuggling and trade fraud, strive to complete the political task in 2022 successfully".
Accordingly, HCM City Customs Department is directed to regularly receive, handle and remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses, and ensure the prevention and fight against smuggling and trade fraud.
Enhancing the use of information technology, and modern equipment to minimize direct contact between customs officers and customs declarants, while still ensuring the efficiency of customs management.
Strengthen management and fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in e-commerce; combine smoothly, synchronously and effectively between modern and traditional customs control methods to proactively, remotely and early prevent smuggling and trade frauds, illegally transporting goods across borders.
