In 2021, the Covid-19 pandemic has seriously affected the performance of the municipal customs departments, especially the revenue collection.
Therefore, since the new year, the department has requested subordinate-units to implement solutions to achieve their targets, including a focus on removing obstacles for businesses and strengthening the anti-smuggling and revenue loss efforts.
In addition, the Hanoi Customs Department has focused on implementing regulations for imports, exports and means of transport on exit and entry.
As well as this, the Department has complied with guidance of the Ministry of Finance and the General Department of Vietnam Customs amid the turbulence of Covid-19, and taken measures to reach their shared target.
The department has also assigned targets for debt collection in 2021 to subordinate units. It has assessed the impacts of the public health crisis on State revenue, so that the municipal government can build a growth scenario for 2021.
It has run an e-system for tax exemption, tax reduction, tax refunds and processing overpaid taxes. As well as this, it has launched a pilot project on one time rulings of multiuse to create favorable conditions in customs inspections and rulings. The pilot will also aim to simplify procedure, shorten customs clearance time and workload for the customs business community.
As of November 15, the department processed 1,208,864 declarations, equivalent to 112.4%, year-on-year. Trade surged 129.1% to VND61.38 billion, compared with the previous year.
The following customs branches, Vinh Phuc, Phu tho, Yen Bai and Hoa Binh have exceeded their target.
Noi Bai, North Thang Long and the Investment and Processing Customs Branches have also reached targets.
