Hai Phong Customs organises dialogue with logistics enterprises and customs brokers

VCN – Hai Phong Customs Department held a dialogue with 50 logistics enterprises and customs brokers.

The organization of the conference is aimed to implement Decree No.02/NQ-CP dated January 10, 2022 of the Government and Plan No.26/KH-UBND of the People’s Committee of Hai Phong City dated February 7, 2022 on the main missions and solutions to improve the business environment and enhance national competitiveness in 2022.

At the same time, this event also showed Hai Phong Customs’s desire to accompany and listen to enterprises' difficulties regarding legal regulations and practical management of the unit.

Speaking at the dialogue, Director of Hai Phong Customs Department Nguyen Duy Ngoc emphasized the importance of the dialogue in the development of the cooperative relationship between Customs and the business community.

This is also an occasion for the business community to gain useful information from state management authorities. At the same time, reflecting the obstacles, recommendations and aspirations of the enterprises so that the Customs authority can listen and have a plan to support import-export activities.

In recent years, Hai Phong Customs Department has always been one of the leading units of the Customs sector in modernization and reform. Following the motto “Reform – Discipline – Professionalism”, the leaders of Hai Phong Customs have concentrated on promoting administrative reform and customs modernization towards setting “people and enterprise as a center”.

At the same time, the unit is proactively deploying many effective solutions in order to accelerate cargo clearance and support enterprise’s production to overcome difficulties during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Also at the conference, the representative of Hai Phong Logistics Association and customs brokers highly appreciated the reforms of the Customs sector in general and Hai Phong Customs Department in particular. This is the result of relentless effort in promoting and developing the Customs-Business partnership. Until now, the relationship between Hai Phong Customs Department and business communities has achieved positive developments from the relation of “subjects of management” change to “partnership” based on the principles of transparency, publicity, law compliance, listening and understanding, sharing, cooperation and accompanying from both parties.

With the spirit of openness, representatives participating in the dialogue contributed many opinions not only in the customs field but also in fields of other sectors of Hai Phong city and seaport and warehouse business in the area.

Through the dialogue, Hai Phong Customs Department provided new content and policies to enterprises. From that, helping enterprises understand and enhance law compliance, reducing errors and mistakes when carrying out customs procedures. At the same time, the Department also answered questions from enterprises.

Concluding the dialogue, Director Nguyen Duy Ngoc thanked enterprises for contributing opinions and sharing with the Customs authority. He expected that enterprises who participated in this dialogue could communicate and spread the messages of Hai Phong Customs to the business community.

Hai Phong Customs Department determined that they always reform, create favorable conditions to support enterprises, set enterprises as the center as well as create a fair and transparent business environment, meeting requirements following international standards and practices.
