Enterprises and EuroCham appreciate the efforts of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs to facilitate trade

The 2024 Customs - Business Dialogue Conference was attended by more than 100 businesses. The conference answered more than 20 questions from businesses related to issues: on-site import and export; tax exemption regulations for imported goods to produce export goods from duty-free zones; adjustment of the tax exemption list; import of goods on the Cites list into bonded warehouses waiting to be exported to a third country, etc.
At this conference, many businesses highly appreciated the role of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department as a cooperative partner with businesses in recent times. Mr. Juergen Weber, Chairman of the Transport and Logistics Subcommittee of the EuroCham European Chamber of Commerce (TLSC) spoke highly of the role and efforts of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department in facilitating trade as well as the development of the import-export transport and logistics sector.
“We appreciate the opportunity for businesses to have a dialogue with Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department to better understand the context, operational situation and existing limitations of businesses. The proactiveness and prompt response of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs has significantly contributed to ensuring the smooth operation of business activities and strengthening mutual trust between the parties,” said Mr. Juergen Weber.
According to Mr. Juergen Weber, TLSC is making efforts to improve the business environment to meet the requirements of economic and trade growth. Accordingly, TLSC is coordinating with Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department to continue to take advantage of geographical advantages to develop seaport activities, improve the efficiency of Customs management as well as facilitate import and export activities. The support of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Customs plays an essential role in the joint efforts to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of the transport and logistics sector.
Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, Director of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Customs Department, affirmed that the motto of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Customs Department is to always accompany businesses throughout the business process and consider businesses as cooperative partners.

In that spirit, at the dialogue conference, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department wishes to listen to the difficulties and problems of enterprises to find solutions. In addition, the unit also wants to listen to the experiences of enterprises in the process of doing business and working with foreign partners, especially advanced customs solutions and services applied in other countries.
"The opinions and recommendations of enterprises will be recorded by Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department, studied and applied or recommended to superiors to aim at creating more favorable conditions for the business community" - Director Nguyen Truong Giang shared, at the same time affirming that Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department always welcomes the opinions and contributions of enterprises.
At this conference, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department also deployed Decision 290/QD-HQBRVT of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department on promulgating regulations on customs management, inspection and supervision of goods transported by containers brought into, stored and brought to the Cai Mep - Thi Vai centralized inspection site; Article 26 of Decree 35/2022/ND-CP of the Government on separate regulations applicable to export processing zones and export processing enterprises,etc.
