Immediately deal with problems of tax payment through banks

The representative of HAN THINH SHOES Co., Ltd reflected that his company regularly imported goods through Cat Lai Port. Although the Customs office and Saigon New Port Corporation has facilitated procedures for the company quickly, goods of enterprises are involved in tax payment through banks. Because the goods are subject to tax immediately, the company paid taxes at the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development - East Saigon Branch from the end of last week, but so far, Customs has still not received information on tax payment on the Customs system, causing the shipment of enterprises not to be cleared.

Sharing and responding urgently, the leaders of the Customs Branch of Saigon port, Zone 1 and the Division of Import-Export Duty under the HMC City Customs instructed public servants to contact immediately with the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development - East Saigon Branch to check and solve for the company.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Toan, Deputy Head of the Division of Import-Export Duty, said that the General Department of Vietnam Customs signed an agreement on implementing electronic tax 24/7 with the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, so the tax payment should be very fast and convenient, no waiting for several days as mentioned above. Immediately after this conference, the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department will issue a document requiring the bank to correct this situation immediately, not to affect the Customs clearance of goods.

Regarding the issue of tax payment, the Customs Branch of Saigon port, Zone 1 also noted that in the process of tax payment, if the enterprise encountered problems, enterprises should contact and immediately report to the Customs office to handle them promptly.

At the meeting, the Customs Branch of Saigon port, Zone 1 answered questions of enterprises which were mainly related to import procedures such as HS code for dishwashers, food quality and analysis of imported fertilizer.

Many business support programs

At the dialogue conference with enterprises this time, the HCM City Customs Department and Saigon Newport Corporation informed many businesses new programs and content which will be deployed at Cat Lai port to support import and export activities and the trade of enterprises.

Information on some new contents in the management of Customs office in the coming time, the Manager of the Customs Branch of Saigon port, Zone 1, Mr. Vu Viet Tien said, the unit was coordinating with Saigon Newport Corporation, units of the HCM City Customs Department and the General Department of Vietnam Customs to prepare the automatic management and supervision system at Cat Lai port under the decision of the Ministry of Finance.

Effective implementation of this program will create new breakthroughs in Customs management at seaports, airports, shorten time and costs of enterprises, strengthen the management of Customs, improve business compliance and prevent fraud and smuggling. By applying automatic Customs control and management system, importers and exporters can minimize the exchange of documents with transport companies as well as the Customs office. As a result, the burden of declaration is reduced, speeding up the clearance process.

Colonel Ngo Minh Thuan, the Deputy Director General of Sai Gon NewPort Corporation, said that the unit was implementing many solutions on investment in infrastructure, IT application, to facilitate the export and import of enterprises. In particular, Sai Gon NewPort Corporation deployed many software programs to connect with the Customs office in the management of goods at Cat Lai port effectively.

"In the coming time, along with the implementation of the automatic Customs control and management system at Cat Lai port, Saigon Newport Corporation will inspect the delivery of containers by camera imaging. There are no gatekeepers, deploying auxiliary services, avoiding overloading for Cat Lai port "-, Colonel Ngo Minh Thuan informed.
