Decree on National Single Window aims to serve people and businesses

VCN – On May 27, the Ministry of Finance held a meeting to perfect the draft Decree regulating information connection and sharing related to import, export and transit of goods, people and means of transport via the National Single Window.

Decree on National Single Window aims to serve people and businesses

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister Vu Thi Mai and attended by Deputy Director General Mai Xuan Thanh along with representatives of ministries and government agencies, members of the Drafting Committee and the Editorial Team.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Finance Vu Thi Mai said that following the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, the Ministry urgently issued a decision establishing a Drafting Committee and the Editorial Team, and assigning the General Department of Vietnam Customs to organize meetings to further develop the draft.

According to the Deputy Minister, this is a difficult Decree, because it involves over 10 ministries and government agencies. The General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) has coordinated with other ministries and agencies to hold meetings to develop the draft.

On March 16, the GDVC reported the Ministry of Finance to took feedback from ministries and agencies. Currently, 64 ministries and agencies have provided comments, including 14 from ministries and agencies, 41 of local government and 9 of other organizations and authorities.

The GDVC has gathered opinions to report to the ministry to hold this meeting for perfecting the draft decree.

The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the great efforts of the Drafting Committee and the Editorial Team and effective coordination of relevant ministries and agencies in development of the draft decree.

The Deputy Minister also suggested representatives of ministries and agencies, Drafting Committee and the Editorial Team to continue to contribute specific regulations in the draft Decree to soon complete and submit to the Government.

“The implementation of the National Single Window and the ASEAN Single Window has achieved positive results. However, the Government and the Prime Minister continue to strictly direct contents related to digital transformation and data connection. The import and export activities is related to ministries and agencies, so that the data connection and sharing needs to be strengthened. The needs of the connection must be expedited to serve people and businesses; enhance efficiency of state management, including giving priority for facilitation to people and enterprises,” said the Deputy Minister.

Currently, 245 of 260 administrative procedures of 13 ministries and government agencies have been connected to the National Single Window. As March 15, about 4.9 million dossiers of 53,000 enterprises have been processed via the National Single Window.

Between January 1 and March 15, 155,589 dossiers of 1,300 businesses were handled via the National Single Window.
