The seminar will take place on the morning of December 8, 2023 at the Hall of the General Department of Customs in Ho Chi Minh City.

Smuggling, counterfeiting and intellectual property right infringementacross the country are still complicated. Key subjects are enterprises engaging in import and export activities according to the type of export processing; enterprises operating in import and export activities according to temporary import for re-export, transit, and trading in goods that directly affect human health; organizations and individuals regularly import non-commercial goods through air routes, express delivery, and import goods for business through land border gates and seaports.

Key products are goods that directly affect consumer rights such as: cigarettes, alcohol, consumer goods, food, supplementary foods, medicine; fake fashion items of famous brands such as clothes, shoes, bags, wallets, suitcases, watches; grocery items, electricity, electronics, household appliances, machinery and equipment, fertilizers, pesticides.

In particular, the demand for goods for production and consumption is forecast to increase before, during and after the Lunar New Year, posing risk of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, goods violating intellectual property rights with sophisticated tricks, forcing the authorities to proactively take many inspection and control measures. At the same time, many local enterprises will be seriously affected by this problem, causing significant damage to their profits, reputation, and brand.

The seminar is a place for competent authorities sit together to exchange and evaluate the current situation and measures to control and prevent smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, and goods infringing intellectual property rights at the end of the year and protecting legitimate businesses.
