Da Nang Customs innovates images from creative thinking

VCN - In the process of administrative reform and customs modernisation, Da Nang Customs Department has introduced many solutions to facilitate legal trade activities, attract investment and develop tourism. The "Customs Smile" scheme also came from the above purpose with two big goals. The first was to facilitate import and export activities, immigration via airway, attracting tourists, attracting investment and developing tourism.

Customs is the first state management agency that immigrants contact at the airport. For investors, businessmen and passengers to feel the friendliness of the state management agencies in general and the Customs authorities in particular when coming to Da Nang, customs officers need to greet and smile. The smile is not only expressive, but also the attitude to invite partners to Da Nang.

The second is to help the Customs Branch at Da Nang international airport to organize customs management in a professional and effective manner; help Customs officers to further improve the sense of responsibility, dedication to work, and people; as well as to strengthen the inspection, supervision, control, detection and timely prevention of violations as well as the prevention of risks, contributing to ensuring safety and security and protecting national interests in the area of management. Therefore, all the contents of the scheme not only improve professional skills in customs reform and modernisation but also improve the image of Da Nang Customs in the heart of international visitors to Da Nang - the liveable city of Vietnam. For the "Customs Smile" scheme to be officially launched and promote its practical efficiency, the development of a slogan of action and a logo for the scheme is necessary.

To choose a beautiful, impressive, unique logo and a good slogan in accordance with the Customs slogan of "Professional - Transparency - Efficiency" and in accordance with the purpose of the "Customs Smile" scheme, thereby serving propaganda for the scheme and creating an exciting competitive atmosphere before launching the scheme and promoting the creativity of each customs civil servant, official, employee, the Department’s leaders have directed the Youth Union to cooperate with Customs Branch at Da Nang International Airport to organise the Logo Design and Slogan Composition Contest for the "Customs Smile" scheme.

After nearly a month of deployment, the contest spread widely from mass organizations such as Trade Union, Youth Union to units under and attached to the Department and each cadre, official and employee. The contest attracted 19 logo designs by 10 authors and groups of authors and 15 slogans by 11 authors and groups of authors. This is a great success of the organizing committee.

Through the preliminary round, the jury of the contest selected five most impressive logos and six slogans in consistency with the criteria of the Contest to the final. The final round was quite impressive and really brought many special feelings for both the Jury and the Organizing Committee.

Each presentation in the final round brought a distinct colour from the meaning of each word in each Vietnamese Slogan and English Slogan as well as each detail, line, colour in each Logo to the serious investment by each author and group of authors and especially the spirit of solidarity in the process of creating Logos and Slogans.

Typically, the Customs Branch at Da Nang International Airport had the largest number of works in the final round. This is the unit that will directly apply the "Customs Smile" scheme in its professional duties. Therefore, the Branch’s leaders, units, civil servants, employees, workers showed their pioneering, enthusiastic response to the contest. In addition, two logos by Customs civil servant Hoang Lan under the Division of Organisation and Personnel - Inspectorate and Trade Union of the Department’s Office have shown details to each line and harmony in colours and expressed the meaning of the sector’s motto. This showed that the authors and groups of authors made research and serious investment in their works.

Especially, the work of Kanh Hoa – Lien Chieu industrial zone Customs Branch chaired and sketched by the Branch’ s manager Cao Van Nhan. The Branch introduced three logos and two slogans. Based on the main works, each Customs civil servant, official, employee gave comments and created many logos with different colours and expressions showing the image of “Customs Smile”.
