In the first six months of the year, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has promoted the dissemination of foreign-related information and international cooperation promptly and accurately on the industry’s media, including Customs Magazine, Vietnam Customs Information Portal, websites of local Customs Departments, and Press agencies of the Finance industry such as Vietnam Financial Times, Finance Magazine, Tax Magazine...
Notably, the GDVC has provided foreign-related information to press agencies such as VTV, VOV, Vietnam News Agency (VNA), Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, Labor, Tien Phong, Thanh Nien, Vietnamnet...
In the first six months of the year, the GDVC organized the 33rd ASEAN Directors-General of Customs Meeting; the Signing ceremony of the Investigation Cooperation Plan between the GDVC and the Australian Border Force on May 7, 2024, in Ha Noi; Signing ceremony of the Joint Statement of Intent to explore opportunities for cooperation on commodity risk management including the possibility of establishing a Foreign Electronic Cargo Data Exchange Program (FECDEP) in Vietnam between the GDVC and the US Customs and Border Protection on May 14, 2024, in Washington DC, the US.
In addition, the GDVC sent representatives to join the working delegation of Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc in Korea and Japan in March and Laos in April. The GDVC’s working group worked bilaterally in the US in May 2024...
Notably, the GDVC has deeply organized international conferences and workshops, and effectively disseminated cooperation programs with foreign and domestic partners such as a conference to launch Operation Mekong Dragon VI within the framework of the World Customs Organization (WCO) for Asia Pacific region in April 2024 in HCM City; Workshop on Capacity Building on Intellectual Property Rights within the framework of the WCO for Asia Pacific region in May in Hanoi; and the 32nd ASEAN Single Window Committee Conference in April in Hanoi.
Notably, to successfully host the 33rd ASEAN Directors-General of Customs Meeting on 4-6 June in Phu Quoc (Kien Giang province), the GDVC has closely cooperated with press agencies inside and outside the industry to organize the press conferences and publish articles to introduce before and during the conference.
Motivated by positive results, the GDVC said that foreign-related information dissemination has been closely cooperated by relevant agencies in planning and organizing events. In addition, officers to be in charge of foreign-related information dissemination are required to be initiative and responsible and understand deeply the importance and role of foreign information work.
From the beginning of the year until now, the foreign-related information dissemination of the Customs industry has been implemented in line with the plan and schedule. Information is updated accurately and promptly, meeting the requirements of the industry, and contributing to strongly promoting the image of Vietnam Customs on the mass media. At the same time, it contributes to the success of important foreign events and activities of the Customs industry in 2024.
