The specialized page “2023 WCO Technology Conference and Exhibition” provides the fastest and official information about the activities of the conference and exhibition in general and activities of Vietnam Customs in particular, helping viewers and people access it in the most convenient way.

WCO's biggest annual international event
Following the WCO’s request and the Prime Minister's approval, the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) and the World Customs Organization (WCO) will jointly hold the “2023 WCO Technology Conference and Exhibition”, taking place from October 10-12 in Hanoi. The conference will be attended by the Government’s leaders.
This is the WCO's biggest annual international event under the theme “Embracing the Digital Age: Leveraging Technology, Fostering Innovation, and Nurturing the Next Generation of Customs Professionals”.
Through exhibition booths and discussion sessions, exchanging experiences at the Conference, the participants will have the opportunity to learn, access and update development trends in the field of technology and technology-based customs management solutions.
This is also an opportunity for Vietnam to show its determination in digital transformation, advanced technology application towards e-Government and digital Government.
GDVC’s Director General Nguyen Van Can will participate as a guest at the first plenary session of the Conference under the theme “The Strategy Behind Technology: Leveraging Innovative Solutions to Address Global Trade Challenges”.
The session will be attended by senior delegates from international organizations including the WCO Secretary General, Chairperson of the WCO Council, the World Bank’s Senior Expert on Trade Facilitation.
At the session, Director General of Vietnam Customs will discuss specific contents such as the role of technology in sharing knowledge and attracting new generation to the Customs profession; key factors in using technology and areas where certain gaps exist;
Data governance in customs and international trade and how to build operating models that help collect and exploit data from the entire trade ecosystem based on technological support;
Different strategic approaches to innovation and technology application in the customs sector to harness the power of technology to address global trade emerging challenges; and how to promote human factors to handle technological issues, ensuring sustainability and good governance in the technology deployment process.
The conference will be chaired by Secretary General of the World Customs Organization, Dr. Kunio Mikuriya. The conference will be attended by leaders of Customs administrations of WCO members; representatives of international organizations, border agencies; technology providers in the world, international trade enterprises; academia and researchers involved in the customs and technology arena. The conference will be participated by representatives of the Government Office, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Culture and Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Hanoi People's Committee, and major technology providers such as Vinfast Trading and Services Company Limited, Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel), FPT Joint Stock Company, CMC Technology Corporation, ETC Technology Systems Joint Stock Company… |
