The policy of leaders of the General Department of Vietnam Customs was that the organization of the exam must ensure publicity, fairness and transparency through the method of multiple-choice tests on computers and give results after the test is completed.
According to the Principal of Vietnam Customs School Nguyen Dinh Phien, customs brokers were considered "connection arms" of the Customs authority, playing an important role in customs declaration and cargo clearance activities. Therefore, the development of a customs broker must start from the root, that is, completing the process of evaluating broker staff by improving the quality and efficiency of organizing the exam on granting professional certificates of customs declaration.
According to the Vietnam Customs School, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, individuals taking the test must have a negative test within 72 hours. The exam has also been delayed many times, so the number of candidates participating in the exam has decreased significantly.
In addition, exam questions this year would be more difficult than in 2020 in order to improve the quality of certificated customs declarants, thereby strengthening and improving the quality of customs brokers.
The exam board planned to organize two exams in the North and the South, including three subjects: Law on Customs, foreign trade techniques, and customs techniques (length: 50 minutes/exam). Following the exam in the North, the exam in the South is expected to be held from April 18 to 21 in Ho Chi Minh City.
