Criminal case of illegal transport of money across Moc Bai Border Gate prosecuted

On December 11, at the Moc Bai International Border Checkpoint, Moc Bai Border Gate Customs Branch coordinated with the Customs Enforcement Team under Tay Ninh Customs Department and Moc Bai International Border Guard Station to arrest Tran Thanh Tong, born in 1961, residing in Go Dau district, Tay Ninh province,for illegally transporting VND132,960 million in cash across the border.
Through initial investigation, Tran Thanh Tong was found to be a goods owner who regularly trades and exchanges goods with Cambodian business partners.
On December 11, after transporting goods to the Vietnam-Cambodia border marker area to exchange, when Tong returned, he brought the above money and hidit in a black bag in his pocket. The money had no legal documents and did not go throughcustoms clearance.
For the act of bringing in Vietnamese money in excess of the provisions without acustoms declaration, the Moc Bai Border Gate CustomsBranch issued a decision to prosecute the criminal case and continue to investigate and handle it in accordance with the law.
