On 29 November 2017, the General Department of Vietnam Customs issued an official letter to request leaders of subordinate departments to continuously direct and develop the plan for implementation of Directive 39/CT-TTg in 2017 of the Prime Minister on strengthening prevention and fighting against crime and law violation on fighting against the person performing a public duty.

Notably, the leader of GDVC directed units to strictly handle the acts of corruption, negative behavior, harassment for people and violations of attitude in the public duty performance of Customs officers and consider the responsibility of the heads of units.

According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, from the beginning of the year to the first half of November, the inspectorate conducted 134 specialized inspections, 270 internal inspections and collected 79.5 billion VND from tax arrears and penalty and contributed 31 billion VND to the State budget.
