Ba Ria – Vung Tau Customs more than VND 89 billion of irrecoverable debts

Irrecoverable debt is VND 89.5 billion; debt waiting for handling was over VND 3.3 billion; recoverable debt was more than VND 11.6 billion; group of owing penalties of administrative violations was VND 362 million.
The BR-VT Customs Department said that in 2020, the unit has applied many debt recovery measures like regularly reviewing and grasping the situation of tax debt at the unit; requesting units classify tax debts in accordance with the situation of enterprises owing tax debts under the process of managing tax debts and other levies on imported and exported goods, issued with Decision No. 1503/QD-TCHQ of the General Department of Vietnam Customs dated May 18, 2018 to ensure effective recovery of debts in the future.
For enterprises owing tax debts in management localities and having grounds to determine enterprises are still operating, after applying sequentially coercive measures as prescribed but failing to recover tax debts, the unit has coordinated with the tax department and the tax branches where the enterprise is headquartered to carry out coercive measures, notify on the invalid use of invoice.
For debts which have had results of complaint settlement from competent authorities, it is necessary to strictly comply with complaint settlement results to clearly identify the recoverable debts and organise to collect.
For debts arising from inspection, examination, audit and post-clearance audit related to tax imposition, after issuing the decision of the tax imposition, the Customs branches where arising debts should carry out tax recovery measures as guided in Decision No. 1503/QD-TCHQ of the General Department of Vietnam Customs dated May 18, 2018.
As of May 31, BR-VT Customs Department has recovered more than VND 654 million of tax debt, of that some VND 638 million was irrecoverable debt and debt waiting for handling.
