Export of goods across Lao Cai Border Gate Customs surges

Import and export activities across Lao Cai International Customs Branch increases in the first two months on the year. |
In February, the branch processed customs clearance for goods with total trade of US$ 70.17 million, down 20% month-on-month but up 20% year-on-year.
Notably, the decrease in turnover results from the sharp decrease in imports, while exports still maintained remarkable growth.
In February, the export turnover of goods cleared at the branch reached US$ 46.544 million, up 6% month-on-month and 73% year-on-year.
The import turnover only recorded US$ 23.62 million, down 42% month-on-month and 26% year-on-year.
In the first two months, the branch has cleared cargo with total turnover of about US$170 million, including export turnover of US$ 90.3 million and import turnover of US$ 79.3 million.
Exported goods mainly are peeled wood, dragon fruit, durian, charcoal. The export turnover soars due to the increase in the import of durian, dragon fruit, watermelon, and cassava.
The imported goods mainly are agricultural products, confectionery, fertilizer, machinery and equipment, chemicals, liquefied petroleum gas.
