About 1 million packs of smuggled cigarettes destroyed

Smuggled cigarettes are destroyed in An Giang

On April 18, the Wastewater Treatment of Long Xuyen City, the Standing Office of An Giang Steering Committee 389 destroyed 960,000 packs of smuggled cigarettes.

In the first quarter of the year, the smuggling in the province has been controlled. The illegal transportation of goods by motorbike on the National Highway 91 has sharply decreased. Hot spots for smuggling in targeted routes and areas have been prevented.

Destroyed cigarettes are mainly Hero and Jet brands

However, due to the high demand in the domestic market in 2022, smugglers have hired residents to transport smuggled goods across the border gate in small quantities.

In the first quarter, the local Anti-smuggling forces seized 14,555 packs of smuggled foreign cigarettes.
