116 customs branches have import and export declarations during Lunar New Year

Nearly 10,000 declarations opened
During the Lunar New Year holiday of Dragon in 2024, the whole country has more than 1,000 businesses participating in import and export of goods, with nearly 10,000 declarations registered at 116 customs branches and equivalent units of 32 local customs departments.
During the recent Lunar New Year holiday, the country recorded US$1.41 billion in trade. Of which, exports reached US$0.73 billion and imports US$0.68 billion.
Thus, during this year's Lunar New Year, businesses had a trade surplus of US$50 million.
The phones and components of all kinds saw the largest export turnover of US$282.8 million , accounting for 38.7% of total export turnover during Tet; Computer products, electronic products and components reached US$263.6 million, accounting for 36.1%; followed by machinery and equipment items with US$54.4 million, accounting for 7.5%.
Thus, the total turnover of the three largest groups mentioned above accounted for 82.3% of the total export turnover during the Lunar New Year of Dragon.
Meanwhile, the group of computers, electronic products and components is the largest imports with US$428.7 million, accounting for 63% of total import turnover. Followed by the group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts with US$41.3 million, accounting for 6%, and the group of petroleum products of all kinds reaching US$41.3 million, accounting for 6%. Thus, these three largest product groups accounted for 75% of total import turnover during this year's Lunar New Year.
Goods exported to 77 markets
During this year's Lunar New Year, Vietnamese goods were exported to 77 countries and territories. Of which, the US is the Vietnam’s largest export market with US$220.7 million, accounting for more than 30% of total export turnover during Tet.
Followed by markets: China with US$186.9 million (accounting for 25.6%), South Korea with US$71.2 million (accounting for nearly 10%)...
Also during the Lunar New Year holiday, businesses imported goods from 59 countries and territories, of which the largest imports came from South Korea with nearly US$239 million, accounting for 35.2% of total import turnover during Tet.
Next, goods were imported from China with US$196.7 million (accounting for 29%), Cambodia from US$41.3 million (accounting for 6%)
From the beginning of the year to February 14, 2024, the country's trade turnover rose 17.1% year-on-year to US$82.56 billion.

Of which, exports increased 21.6% to nearly US$43.83 billion and imports increased 12.4% to US$38.73 billion.
Thus, from the beginning of 2024 to the end of February 14, 2024, Vietnam's trade balance saw a trade surplus of more than US$5.1 billion.
