According to the leader of Cam Pha Port Customs Branch (Quang Ninh Customs Department), Van Don International Airport Customs Working Group is currently implementing the customs procedures for entry and exit of passengers and their luggage and conducting supervision at the international airport.
Accordingly, to ensure both facilitation and strict management in the area, the Working Group identifies the risk criteria for people on frequent entry according to the nature of their work (crew, flight attendants), especially entry passengers who have been handled for violations and frequently enter into Vietnam, the amount of check-in baggage; identify key flights originating from countries with high risks of commercial goods (France, Germany, Japan and South Korea), and drugs (South American countries, Golden Triangle countries), CITES (African countries), about gold and foreign currencies (UAE, Japan and South Korea).

In addition, the unit co-held the signing of a coordination regulation with Van Don International Airport and Noi Bai International Airport in the management and use of scanners; Immigration Department, Quang Ninh International Quarantine Center; Airport Authority to improve the efficiency of cooperation between State management agencies and port operators to contribute to meeting the requirements of national security, prevention of crimes, smuggling and trade fraud.
According to the leader of Cam Pha Port Customs Branch, the number of officers working at the Working Group is insufficient, an officer must hold many positions, so it is difficult in the case of the occurrence of an entry flight and adeparture flight at the same time. Therefore, the branch proposed Quang Ninh Customs Department to add officers to the Working Group and reported to the General Department of Customs to soon establish a Customs Procedure Team at Van Don International Airport to implement effectively State management regulations in the field of customs, especially when investors put commercial cargo flights into operation in the first quarter of 2021. |
