Truck transporting illegal masks seized

Tens of carton boxes containing gauze masks were seized in the evening of March 8

According to Tinh Bien Customs Branch, on the evening of March 8, at the Integrated Control Station of Tinh Bien International Border Gate, the unit seized a case of illegal face masks being exported to Cambodia.

Those gauze masks were transported by truck

When implementing customs procedures for trucks on exit, customs official discovered signs of suspicion, so they coordinated with Tinh Bien International Border Post to conduct an inspection. As a result, officers found 66 boxes containing 164,600 face masks.

This was a most largest case of illegal exporting gauze masks

Currently, Tinh Bien Customs Branch is taking testimony of the suspects to compile a handling dossier.

All the shipment was sealed and waited for handling

Earlier, on March 3, Tinh Bien Customs Branch also discovered and prevented two cases of illegal export of 20,000 masks to Cambodia.

Customs and Border defence forces inspected vehicle and the smuggled gauze masks.
