Customs arrests a suspect for transporting about 69 kg of fireworks across Moc Bai Border Gate

At about 6:30 p.m. on December 3, at the Moc Bai International Border Gate vehicle entry area, Moc Bai Border Gate Customs Branch and the Customs Enforcement Team (Tay Ninh Customs Department) coordinated with Ben Cau District Police and Moc Bai International Border Gate Border Guard Station to inspect a tractor-trailer with license plate 61H-150.46, pulling a trailer with license plate 61R-043.79, driven by Dong Manh Tung (35, residing in Ham Yen district, Tuyen Quang province).

During the inspection, the enforcement authorities detected 4 carton boxes in the tractor-trailer cabin. There were 16 boxes inside these carton boxes, each box weighing 3.1 kg and were wrapped in colorful paper.

Dong Manh Tung admitted that all of the above goods were fireworks with a total weight of 68.6 kg, and he had hired to transport from Cambodia to Vietnam.

The enforcement authorities made a record and arrested Dong Manh Tung for transporting prohibited goods, and have temporarily detained all evidence and the vehicle for further investigation.

Currently, Moc Bai Border Gate Customs Branch has handed over the suspect, evidence and the vehicle to Ben Cau District Police, Tay Ninh Province for further investigation.
