Since the beginning of the year, the number of administrative violations in the area has declined significantly; there was only one violation on not re-exporting machinery and equipment on time, with a fine of VND 5 million, a decrease of 91.6% in the number and 83% in fines over the same period in 2018.

Deputy Director of Thua Thien Hue Customs Department Ngo Binh Tu said, in general, import and export goods had procedures implemented at the unit were mainly traditional goods, were not sensitive goods with high tax rates, so smuggling and trade fraud were not complicated; hot spots smuggling groups, trade frauds, counterfeit goods, illegal cross-border transportation of goods and drugs through the area have not been detected.

The number of administrative violations at the beginning of the year fell sharply compared to the same period in 2018 because enterprises have paid more attention to the customs declaration, limiting the violations of the time limit for additional declaration and handling of materials encountered in 2018. Moreover, the focus on statistics brought significant efficiency that is pointing out common violations and discussing causes so that enterprises can study and learn experiences at meetings and conferences with Thua Thien Hue Customs Department.

In addition, the Customs has also actively guided and promptly solved problems in operations such as: Advising MSV Company on policies and procedures on imports of mannequin products; Phenikaa Hue Co., Ltd on exports of fine and ultrafine silica oxide powder; guiding procedures for non- tax collection on imported shipment which was returned by Lee Park Wood Complex Company; guiding Huetronic Joint Stock Company procedures on goods processing for foreign traders; extending declaration for temporary import of duty-free machines for Takson Hue One-member Co., Ltd.

However, before the increasing smuggling and illegal transportation of drugs in many areas, the Deputy Director Ngo Binh Tu said that the Department has paid attention to the coordination with the authorities and the Customs Departments in the Central-Highlands region. The Department regularly coordinates and exchanges information exchange with competent forces inside and outside the sector according to the signed regulations such as Border Guard, Police, Zone 2 Marine Police Command to grasp information to ensure order and security in the Customs area.
