Rising declarations at 142 customs branches
According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, during the Tet holiday (from January 29th to February 6th), there were 2,462 enterprises importing and exporting goods, an increase of 2.56 times compared to the figures for the Tet holiday 2021.
The total number of customs declarations was 20,460, double the number of declarations registered during the Lunar New Year 2021.
Notably, during the Lunar New Year 2022, businesses registered for import and export declarations at 142 customs branches (increasing by 16 branches compared to 2021), belonging to 34 local customs departments.
The country's total import-export turnover reached US$3.05 billion, a sharp increase of 83% over the same period in 2021. In particular, exports reached US$1.47 billion, double that of 2021; imports reached US$1.58 billion, up 68%.
The reason for this prosperity is that the holiday is longer compared to the Lunar New Year 2021 (which was only 7 days off).
