On 14th August, after Customs Newspaper posted the article entitled, “The Customs has officially launched hotline number 1900 96 96 47”, some readers suspected that if they call the hotline number, whether there are any Customs officers on duty to answer them or not?”

Regarding this question, the Customs newspaper reporter contacted the Center for Management and Operation of Customs IT System.

The Center’s leader said that the Helpdesk answered hundreds of questions per working day via the hotline and e-mail.

For example, from 1st to 14th 2018, the unit received and answered 4,494 questions. Of which, 705 questions were answered on 1st August.

Notably, the Helpdesk is available 24/7 on Saturdays and Sundays to answer questions.

Specifically, 54 questions were answered on 4th August and 7 questions were answered on 5th by the Helpdesk.

After the pilot period, on 10th August 2018, the General Department of Vietnam Customs officially launched the hotline system to support individuals, organizations and enterprises in the Customs field via the number 1900 96 96 47.

Through this hotline, the General Department of Vietnam Customs desired that it would provide an advanced, professional and timely support service to facilitate the business community engaged in import and export activities.

In order to contact the Helpdesk under the General Department of Vietnam Customs, individuals, organizations and enterprises should call the number 1900 96 96 47 (press 2). The General Department of Vietnam Customs does not collect a service fee, enterprises only have to pay the telecom fee of VND1, 500 per minute.

In addition, from 10th August to 10th September 2018, the General Department still received information via 7 other telephone numbers: (024) 37 824 754, (024) 37 824 755, (024) 37 824 756, (024) 37 824 757, (024) 32 242 182, (024) 32 242 183, (024) 32 242 184.

After 10th September 2018, the General Department will stop receiving information via the 7 telephone numbers to completely transfer to the new number, 1900 96 96 47.

VCN - From the beginning of the year up to now, Vietnam Customs has received and handled ...

The Helpdesk is available 24/7 and will support users in using the Customs centralized IT application system, and guide and respond on Customs policies, regulations (based on the standardized polices and questions and answers).

At the same time, reviving proposals and handling inadequacies of enterprises in goods clearance, reporting to competent authorities for handling; guiding and answering questions related to the use and technical issues of the VNACCS/VCIS system; receiving proposals, amending, supplementing and upgrading the system related to the Customs IT System.
