Revenue increased
Director of Tay Ninh Customs Department Huynh Van Duc said that in the first 4 months of 2019, the unit has thoroughly implemented the regimes and policies related to import and export activities and immigration and customs procedures in accordance with the law. As a result, total import and export turnover reached US$ 3,351.18 million, up 33.97% over the same period last year. Total number of means of transport were 25,355 moves; immigration passengers were 653,865 moves. As of April 26, 2019, the unit collected VND 745.47 billion, reaching 119.47% of the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance (VND 624 billion), 70.99% of the additional target (VND 1,050 billion) assigned by the General Department of Customs.
To achieve the targets, Tay Ninh Customs Department has directed, inspected and urged its subordinates to focus on carrying out the plan of state budget collection, managing revenues, collecting correctly, fully and promptly and enhancing the fight against loss of state budget, ensuring the schedule.
In addition, the Department has actively publicized legal policies, especially documents guiding the Law on Import-Export Duty to the business community, helping businesses understand and voluntarily abide by the tax obligations; accompanied and shared difficulties with businesses, created favourable conditions for businesses in law enforcement; promptly solved problems of enterprises by direct exchange, written answers, answers via hotlines and direct answers at business dialogues.
In particular, the unit has guided and provided maximum support to businesses in prompt imports of equipment to create fixed assets for 10 solar power projects in the 4 districts of Trang Bang, Ben Cau, Tan Chau and Duong Minh Chau. This is also one factor increasing the unit’s revenue in 2019 compared to 2018.

Strict control
At the recent meeting with Tay Ninh Customs Department, Deputy Minister of Finance Vu Thi Mai praised the achievements of Tay Ninh Customs Department in the past 4 months, especially on the revenue target which surpassed the assigned targets. This is a great effort of the unit in very extreme conditions of a strong reduction in revenue due to tariff cuts with the implementation of Vietnam's commitments and multilateral and bilateral trade agreements with other countries.
Mai said Tay Ninh Customs Department has implemented the task of debt recovery well. Although debt recovery was not assigned, the unit still focused on reviewing and urging debt recovery. This was a very positive result.

Tay Ninh Customs has taken measures to inspect, supervise and control import and export goods and goods in transit and means of transport. As a result, the unit discovered 63 cases with a value of VND 7.1 billion. In particular, the unit levied administrative violations for 60 cases, prosecuted one criminal case and transferred one case of illegal cross-border transport of currency worth VND 926 million and one case of illegal storage and use of narcotics to the Police of Ben Cau district, Tay Ninh province.
