As of November 22, the department collected VND1,442 billion, exceeding about 11% compared with the target and meeting 103% compared with the target of VND 1,400 billion assigned by the local government.

To hit the impressive target, Director of Tay Ninh Customs Department Nguyen Van Bong said that, from the early year, the department has made the plan for revenue collection 2023, aiming to comprehensively implement solutions to facilitate trade and improve effectiveness of management and prevent revenue loss.

After the Covid-19 pandemic, most world economies have faced other major challenge as the increase in goods price. The traditional growth drivers of the world economy such as trade, investment and production continue to suffer from difficulties, which have directly affected the domestic economy.

Enterprises continue to face problems in the output market and the decrease in orders while production costs increase. In that context, the leader of Tay Ninh Customs Department has directed its subordinate units to focus on implementing solutions, expediting administrative reform, trade facilitation and imports and exports, shortening cost and customs clearance time for enterprises.

The department’s leader has required all officers to raise awareness and the importance of reform and modernization associated with improving the efficiency of customs control; to implement the Vietnam Customs Development Strategy by 2030, towards the general goal of building a professional and modern Vietnam Customs, on par with the Customs of developed countries, leading in implementing the e-Government, smart Customs model.

Maintain compliance with customs regulations and policies for imports and exports, facilitate import and exports activities. Coordinate with local government agencies to grasp status of investment projects and enterprises implementing major projects, work with enterprises to recognize and resolve problems, facilitate procedures to attract businesses.

Maintain stable revenues

Currently, Tay Ninh Customs Department has implemented solutions to prevent revenue loss such as reviewing and collecting outstanding tax debts and avoiding new tax debts; reviewing taxes on items with suspected risks of price, tax rate, origin fraud to collect and avoid revenue loss, contributing to increasing the department’s revenue. The department has strengthened anti-smuggling and trade fraud.

In August, Xa Mat Customs Branch under Tay Ninh Customs Department detected and arrested a suspect for illegally transporting 15,300 kg of shelled, unprocessed cashew nuts, worth about VND1.4 billion. The branch issued a decision to prosecute a criminal case, transferred all files to the People's Procuracy of Tan Bien District for further investigation.

Recently, the branch detected an export processing shipment of Y.S Company including 1,986 kg of scraps of fabric and 97,534 clothing products. Notably, all the infringing goods were not finished products as the declaration. Checking the declaration, the Customs detected that all the goods were falsely declared the quantity and category.

In 2023, the branch busts many violations of counterfeit goods, goods infringing intellectual property rights, imported goods in transit with counterfeit Vietnamese origin...

Motivated by promoting support and creating favorable conditions for businesses and strengthening anti-smuggling and revenue loss, Tay Ninh Customs Department has gradually helped businesses overcome difficulties and maintain stable revenues.
