Therefore, the goal is that each nomenclature must be identified the name of the goods enclosed with HS code in accordance with the Vietnam Export and Import Classification Nomenclature 2017.

The review results will be summarized and reported to the Prime Minister by the General Department of Vietnam Customs before November 30, 2017.

On Jun 27, 2017, the Ministry of Finance issued Circular 65/2011/TT-BTC promulgating the Vietnam Export and Import Classification Nomenclature in line with the ASEAN Harmonized Tariff Nomenclature 2017 (developing on the basis of HS 2017 of the World Customs Organization (WCO)). The Vietnam Export and Import Classification Nomenclature 2017 are classified into 10,813 commodity lines at the 8-digit level. The AHTN 2017 has been added more 1,255 commodity lines compared to AHTN 2012 and remained description in English and code of 7,810 lines, lumped 682 lines, and divided and transfer and added 2,321 new commodity lines.

The General Department of Vietnam Customs has actively reviewed and detailed the Nomenclature of goods subject to specialized inspection and management of each ministry and sector and to be developed and reviewed or transferred under Circular 65/2017/TT-BTC. At the same time, it has sent an official document to ministries and sectors to review and standardize and fully announce specialized nomenclatures of goods subject to specialized inspection enclosed with HS code in line with the Vietnam Export and Import Classification Nomenclature 2017.

In order to promptly deploy the process, in the next review (from 10 to 13 October 2017), the General Department of Vietnam Customs will coordinate with ministries and sectors to review drafts of HS code for Nomenclature of goods subject specialized inspection of ministries and sectors under Circular 65/2017/TT-BTC. Each nomenclature must be identified name of goods enclose with HS code in accordance with the Vietnam Export and Import Classification Nomenclature 2017.

Reviewing all the nomenclature of goods subject to food safety inspection by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade and Ministry of Health and the nomenclature of goods subject to phytosanitary inspection and aquatic inspection; updating legal normative documents related to imports and exports.
