Son La Customs coordinated to seize 1 kg of opium resin

VCN – The Son La Customs force (Dien Bien Customs Department) has coordinated to detain a person accused of storing 1kg of opium.

On April 18, while performing duty in the area of Co Ha, Muong Lan commune, Sop Cop district, Son La province, the working group consisting of Sop Cop District Police (Son La), Muong Lan Border Station (Son La Border Guard) and Son La Customs Branch (Dien Bien Customs Department) discovered and caught Hang A Tong storing narcotics.

At the scene, the force found inside Tong’s house a sack of orange pineapple containing seven pieces of dark brown plant resin (suspected opium resin, weighing about 1 kg).

Tong claimed that the opium was bought by an unknown Lao national, then it was hidden at home and waiting for the buyer come to pick up.

Considering that there were signs of criminal acts, the working group made a record of arresting the criminals. At the same time, the opium was seized in accordance with law.
